I have a PhD in Linguistics and taught university courses for over 12 years. I created, designed, and ran (post)graduate application workshops for 8 years. Specializing in both phonetics (speech sciences) and sociolinguistics (language and society), I taught undergraduate students training to be English teachers to use linguistically sound methodology to improve their English skills. Through empirically-based principles, I developed methods for second-language English speakers to modify their accent based on a target dialect of English and increase their confidence while speaking English....
