As a book editor, I fix manuscripts to make sure they are easy to understand and fun to read. My job is not about fixing mistakes in grammar and spelling. I also work on making the writing by changing the way it is organized and the way it sounds. I want to make sure the writing is good and easy to read.
I work with writers to make their ideas better and to keep their writing consistent. I also want to make sure their writing still sounds like them. I make it more interesting and effective for the people who will be reading it. I pay attention to details.
