Took over an existing Zoho Creator client portal built on Zoho Creator with custom Deluge functions left with unresolved bugs by a previous development vendor, and rebuilt the support-ticket communication system to close a critical one-way gap between the client's portal and their Zoho Desk helpdesk. Diagnosed the root issue: support agent replies typed inside Zoho Desk were never reaching the customer-facing portal, leaving clients with no visibility into ticket responses. Mapped the full data architecture across a custom Creator form and its connected Desk records, then engineered a custom Deluge function to pull ticket thread data from Zoho Desk via API, isolate agent-only replies using thread direction metadata, clean the reply text of embedded email-quote artifacts, and write the result back into the correct ticket record automatically. Wired this function directly into the portal's page-load logic so the sync runs in real time, every time a client opens their tickets page with no manual trigger, cron job, or admin action required. Confirmed the fix through live end-to-end testing from the client-facing side of the portal (not just the admin editor), validating that replies appeared correctly on real test tickets before handoff. Also resolved a separate reporting bug on the portal's case-listing page, and diagnosed a file-download failure on the WorkDrive integration to a specific missing connection scope, escalating precisely to Zoho support rather than guessing at the cause.
