That can actually be valuable. If your intended emotion, character motivation, or plot point isn’t coming across to me, I’ll tell you. You’ll get insight into the gap between what you intended readers to feel and what a real reader may actually experience.
Can you tell me whether the romance is strong enough to keep readers invested?
Yes. I’ll look beyond whether the couple simply “gets together.” I’ll pay attention to chemistry, emotional progression, tension, attraction, conflict, payoff, and other areas.
