I will localize to british or american english

I am a native speaker of English (American). I spent almost half of my editing life working in Britain for various companies and as a freelancer. The other half of my career has been working in the USA in marketing, publishing, and also as a freelancer.

I can edit in Word or Google Docs. If I edit in Word, I will send you two versions of your file: one that tracks all the changes I have made, and one with all those changes "accepted." I cannot localize on PDFs - there's not enough leeway, but you can convert to Word or Google Docs.

Will you keep my work confidential?

Yes, I edit with sensitivity to make sure it's your thoughts, ideas, and research that are coming through. With localization, I may have to alter your style somewhat to ensure it works for that version of English.

Proofreading corrects your work in the original language (e.g. British to British). Localization changes the language (e.g. American to British) and will ensure that terminology, spelling, punctuation, cultural references, and the like are correct.
