CAD modelling and structural analysis process, using AutoCAD and Abaqus CAE to design and optimise the vehicle chassis to meet strict structural safety and performance requirements. The role required balancing lightweight design with structural integrity, ensuring the chassis could withstand dynamic loads experienced during racing conditions. Key achievements included: -Designing and assembling the race car chassis using advanced CAD modelling techniques. -Performing finite element structural analysis in Abaqus CAE to validate stress distribution and structural performance. -Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, including powertrain, suspension, and manufacturing groups, to integrate design components. -Presenting the chassis design philosophy and structural calculations to the Formula Student UK scrutineering committee at Silverstone Circuit in 2022. -Successfully passing all structural safety checks during scrutineering allows the vehicle to compete.
