I am Simon Méhat, a French mechanical and wood engineer.
🎓 I hold a technical university degree in mechanical engineering, which gave me strong skills in mechanical design, CAD software, and production. I also completed a master’s degree in engineering, specializing in wood and bio-based materials, with a focus on wood structure calculation and eco-design of environmentally friendly products.

What software will be used?
I use FreeCAD to create your industrial designs. FreeCAD is a powerful and open-source software, offering great flexibility and a robust set of tools for precise and professional designs.
What elements are needed?
To start your project, a detailed sketch of what you want to create would be helpful but not essential. You can also include additional details such as the intended use of the part or information about its manufacturing. Photos can also be useful to better understand your needs.
Which file formats should I request?
For machining projects, I deliver STEP or IGES files, suitable for CAD/CAM and CNC machining. I can also provide PDF technical drawings and, if needed, the FreeCAD source file.
What if I want to modify the 3D model?
If you want to modify the 3D model, I recommend requesting the source files as an option. With these source files, you can use FreeCAD to make your modifications. FreeCAD is open-source and free software that allows great flexibility in editing 3D models.
Why do I need to contact you before placing an order?
