Power Apps can be more than a standard Canvas or Model-driven interface.
I build responsive, code-first Power Apps with a Microsoft Dataverse backend, designed to look and feel like polished business products. When user experience, company branding and adoption matter, this approach can be a better fit than a traditional Canvas or Model-driven app.
Canvas apps are useful for rapid development, but complex responsive layouts and highly customised interfaces can become difficult to maintain. Model-driven apps are excellent for structured data and standard business processes, but they provide less control over branding and the user journey.
A code-first Power App offers greater control over:
Responsive layouts and navigation
Company branding and custom components
Clearer onboarding and user journeys
Desktop, tablet and mobile experiences
Maintainable, reusable interface code
You still retain the strength of the Power Platform underneath, including Dataverse, Power Automate, connectors, permissions and secure Power Platform hosting.
Packages can include up to 3, 5 or 8 pages, Dataverse configuration, automations, source code, testing, deployment support.

Not necessarily. A code-first PowerApp provides much more control over the interface than a traditional Canvas or Model-driven app, allowing it to feel like a purpose-built web product. It can look like whatever you want.
What does Microsoft Dataverse provide?
Dataverse provides structured data storage, relationships, validation, permissions and business rules. It gives your modern interface a secure, scalable Microsoft business-data backend.
Is this better than a Canvas or Model-driven app?
It can be better when branding, responsive design and a tailored user journey are important plus bespoke functionality. Canvas and Model-driven apps remain useful for rapid development and standard processes, so I will recommend the best approach for your project.
Can you connect the app to Power Automate?
Yes. Depending on your package, I can add Power Automate flows for approvals, notifications, document generation, scheduled tasks and other business processes.
Will the app work on desktop, tablet and mobile?
Yes. The interface can be designed responsively for modern desktop, tablet and mobile browsers. Exact device features and behaviour will be confirmed during discovery.
Can anyone visit it like a public website?
No. This Gig primarily covers authenticated Power Apps business applications. This is secured to logged in staff only, like Canvas and model driven Powerapps, but looks 10x better. Public or anonymous access may require Power Pages or a different architecture.
What do you need before starting?
Please provide your business process, required pages, user roles, branding, data fields, automation needs, integrations and Power Platform environment details, plus an account to work under. I will review these before confirming the scope.
