My aim is that your story is the best that you can make it.
I'll be looking for plot holes, character inconsistencies, worldbuilding issues, and continuity errors that you might have overlooked. It can be difficult to spot these in your own story as you edit.
The advice will be given with the best intention, and with my reasonings, but you do not have to agree with it all. Sometimes disagreeing with an opinion helps to clarify what it is you are looking for.
The assessments will fall into 4 categories:
Plot
Character
Language: dialogue and description balance. "Crutch words" and overused concepts.
General comments: will be as individual as you are. Might include pacing issues, alternatives to consider, fact checking, or inconsistencies.
With years of experience of giving and receiving feedback and critiques, including at undergraduate and MA Creative Writing levels, I will give the feedback with sensitivity and always focused on you as the writer. The only goal is your satisfaction with your own writing.

Hi hired Sarah to copy edit my novel. She delivered detailed notes back within the timeframe. Some of the notes were obvious, typo's, grammatical errors but many of them were plot or character enhancements that were very useful. She's helping me bring my novel to life. Sarah was exceptional. I asked for a developmental edit for my novel. She delivered her comments and suggestions within the time frame. Her thoughts were comprehensive and thorough. I will be implementing most of them into my novel and hopefully she will be happy for me to hire her again for the next stage of editing. Would definitely recommend.
