As a Crypto Reconciliation Accountant, my core responsibilities revolve around ensuring the accuracy and integrity of digital asset records across various wallets and exchanges. I manage the end-to-end reconciliation process by: * Reconciling crypto wallets on both custodial and non-custodial platforms, ensuring all on-chain and off-chain transactions are accurately recorded. * Investigating and resolving discrepancies between blockchain data and exchange records. * Generating client-facing reports that provide clear, transparent summaries of wallet activity, holdings, and performance.

My Role: * Transaction Reconciliation: Reconcile blockchain transactions, exchange trades, wallet balances, and custodial reports to internal accounting records. Investigate and resolve discrepancies in transaction data, ensuring alignment between source systems and accounting platforms. * Gain/Loss Report Generation: Track cost basis, fair market values, and realized/unrealized gains and losses across various crypto assets. Generate final gain/loss reports using FIFO, LIFO, or specific identification methods based on applicable tax regulations. Work with tax teams and auditors to ensure accurate capital gain/loss reporting. * Holdings Report Preparation: Compile detailed holdings reports showing token positions, valuation in fiat equivalents, and wallet/exchange allocations. Ensure reports reflect real-time and historical snapshots of portfolio values. Internal Controls and Compliance: Ensure compliance with internal policies, accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP), and crypto-specific regulatory requirements. * Tool & System Management: Utilize reconciliation tools, blockchain explorers, and portfolio tracking software (e.g., CoinTracking, CoinLedger, Cryptio) for efficient and accurate reporting.
