I turn sketches, photos, or rough ideas into clean, parametric CAD you can build. I have 8+ years designing parts and assemblies for machining, sheet metal, plastics, and weldments, so your model is DFM-ready from day one. Typical work includes single parts, small or complex assemblies, reverse engineering, enclosures, jigs and fixtures, conversions, and drawing updates.
Design software as SolidWorks (primary), Inventor/Creo/NX on request. Deliverables would include native source files, STEP/IGES/STL, and DXF/DWG files for laser or waterjet use, as well as supplier-ready drawings with GD&T, tolerances, BOM, and exploded views. I can add simple motion checks and fit or stack up notes when needed.
You get clear communication, version control, and quick iterations. NDA and IP respected. You can choose a package or message me with your sketches and target process (CNC, injection molding, sheet metal). I will suggest a manufacturable solution and a realistic lead time.

I am Sam, a mechanical engineer with a BS and an MS and ten years in simulation led design and manufacturing. My core skills are CFD and FEA paired with clean parametric CAD and design for manufacturing so concepts become production ready. I have delivered pumps and turbomachinery, heat exchangers, robotics and automation cells, consumer enclosures and test rigs. My toolset includes SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Siemens NX, ANSYS Fluent and Mechanical, Abaqus, OpenFOAM, COMSOL and Python for automation. I also run an in house prototyping setup with CNC, laser and 3D printing to turn model

What do you need to start?
A sketch or photo with key dimensions, target process (CNC, sheet-metal, molding or 3D print), and any reference files. I’ll confirm scope and timeline before starting
Which software and file formats do you deliver?
SolidWorks native files plus STEP/IGES/STL, DXF/DWG for laser/waterjet, and PDFs. Other formats on request.
Can you make manufacturing drawings and a BOM?
Yes—GD&T, tolerances, title blocks, exploded views, and a clean BOM ready for suppliers are available in Standard/Premium.
Do you prepare parts for 3D printing?
Yes—watertight solids, correct wall thickness, orientation advice, and print-ready STL with basic fit checks.
How many revisions are included?
Each package includes revisions (see scope). I keep changes practical and aligned with the agreed requirements
Will you sign an NDA and keep IP confidential?
Absolutely. I can sign your NDA, and all files remain private. You retain full ownership of the final deliverables
Can you optimize for cost and manufacturability?
Yes—designs follow DFM best practices. I’ll suggest material, thickness, and feature changes to reduce cost and lead time.
