As a Product Design Engineer at Dyson Limited, I was responsible for supporting the development of innovative consumer products from initial concept generation through prototyping, testing, and manufacturing preparation. Working within multidisciplinary teams of industrial designers, mechanical engineers, and manufacturing specialists, I contributed to the creation of products that balanced functionality, aesthetics, user experience, and production efficiency. My role involved conducting product research, analyzing user requirements, developing design concepts, and transforming ideas into detailed 3D CAD models using industry-standard design software. I prepared engineering assemblies, component models, technical drawings, exploded views, and manufacturing documentation to support product development and communication between design and production teams. I collaborated closely with engineers and manufacturing partners to evaluate design feasibility, optimize components for production, and implement Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles. This included addressing factors such as material selection, wall thickness, assembly methods, durability, cost efficiency, tolerance requirements, and production constraints. I participated in prototype reviews, product testing activities, and design validation processes to ensure products met performance, quality, and safety requirements. My experience also included supporting plastic product development, injection-molded component design, consumer product engineering, and product improvement initiatives. I worked on refining product functionality, enhancing user interaction, and improving overall product performance while maintaining manufacturing practicality and commercial viability. Throughout various projects, I developed strong expertise in product development workflows, technical documentation, CAD modeling, engineering problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration.
