At BAK Consulting Engineers, I supported Senior Water Resources Engineers in the design cell and contributed to planning, design, and documentation of major water resources and hydropower projects. Key Responsibilities: - Designed hydraulic structures including weirs, irrigation channels, pipelines, energy dissipators, cross-drainage works, and hydropower-related systems. - Performed hydrological and hydraulic analyses such as watershed delineation, inflow estimation, reservoir operation modeling, flow duration curve development, flood estimation, and flood routing. - Utilized industry-standard software including HEC-RAS for flood modeling, stage–discharge relationships, and hydraulic profiling; HEC-HMS for hydrological modeling and flood routing; and Culvert Studio for the design of diversion tunnels and culverts. - Reviewed hydropower project studies, including head loss calculations, capacity assessments, and system performance evaluations. - Coordinated with project teams and participated in meetings with clients and technical experts to support effective planning and design decisions. - Prepared comprehensive project documentation, including PC-I, hydraulic design reports, construction sequence studies, operation and maintenance manuals, and detailed cost estimates with year-wise physical and financial phasing. - Assisted senior experts during site visits for data collection and field verification to support planning and design activities. - Developed project activity schedules using Primavera. Major Projects Involved: - Updation of Feasibility Study, Detailed Engineering Design, Tender Documents, and PC-I for Chaudwan Zam, Daraban Zam, and Kora Nullah Dams, District D.I. Khan. - Detailed Engineering Design and Preparation of PC-I for Hingol Dam Project, District Lasbela. - Confidence Building Measures and allied works for Diamer Basha Dam Project, Chilas.
