A GIS (Geographic Information System) Specialist is responsible for collecting, managing, analyzing, and visualizing spatial and geographic data to support decision-making across various sectors such as urban planning, telecommunications, environment, transportation, and infrastructure development. Key Responsibilities: Collect, process, and manage spatial data from various sources such as GPS, satellite imagery, surveys, and databases. Develop, maintain, and update GIS databases and geospatial datasets. Perform spatial analysis to support planning, mapping, and decision-making processes. Create high-quality maps, thematic layers, and spatial visualizations using GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS). Ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of geospatial data. Integrate GIS data with other datasets (tabular, statistical, or remote sensing data). Support field data collection and validation activities when required. Collaborate with engineers, planners, and analysts to deliver GIS-based solutions. Automate workflows using scripting tools (e.g., Python, ModelBuilder) where applicable. Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations based on spatial analysis results.
