Selected to provide simultaneous interpretation between a Republic of Korea Army Lieutenant Colonel and a United States Army Lieutenant Colonel during Freedom Shield 25 (FS25), the annual ROK-U.S. combined field training exercise. Key responsibilities: Delivered real-time simultaneous interpretation (Korean-English) during high-level briefings, coordination meetings, and command-level discussions between senior ROK and U.S. officers Accurately conveyed military terminology, tactical plans, and strategic decisions under time-sensitive, high-pressure conditions Served as lead translator for the After Action Review (AAR) team, translating exercise documentation, reports, and lessons-learned materials between Korean and English Maintained strict confidentiality and precision while bridging communication between two national militaries operating under a combined command structure This experience sharpened my ability to interpret and translate accurately under pressure, handle specialized and technical vocabulary, and communicate complex information clearly between Korean and English speakers — skills I bring to every translation project I take on.
