As a Perfume & Fragrance Formulation Chemist, I develop custom scents from concept to final formula for indie brands, startups, and private label clients. My work covers accord and note structure (top, middle, base), EDP/EDT/cologne concentration ratios, natural vs. synthetic ingredient blending, and IFRA compliance for safe, sellable formulas. I handle the full development process: ingredient sourcing and selection, scent profiling based on brand direction, stability and shelf-life considerations, batch scaling for production, and documentation to support regulatory and labeling requirements. I also offer fragrance reverse engineering recreating or adapting an existing scent profile and reformulation for cost efficiency or performance improvement. I work closely with brand owners throughout the process, translating a scent concept or mood into a technically sound formula that's ready for manufacturing, while keeping cost, sourcing, and market positioning in mind.
