From this date onward, all digital products, including eBooks, EPUBs, and reading platforms must comply with the accessibility requirements if they are sold or distributed within the European Union. EPUBs that dont meet accessibility standards (like WCAG 2.1 and EPUB Accessibility 1.1) cannot be legally sold or distributed in the EU market. This includes platforms like Amazon, Apple Books, Kobo, and any EU-based e-commerce sites. Non-compliant EPUBs may be removed from sale, or publishers may face legal and financial penalties.
