As a Senior Civil Engineer at BRAC, I am responsible for overseeing the planning, design, and execution of multiple ongoing construction projects. My role involves ensuring that all engineering works are carried out in compliance with approved designs, standards, and organizational objectives, while maintaining quality, safety, and efficiency across all project stages. A key part of my responsibilities includes structural analysis and design of reinforced concrete (RCC) multistoried buildings using advanced engineering software such as ETABS and SAFE. I perform detailed modeling, load analysis, and design optimization to ensure that each structure is safe, durable, and cost-effective. Alongside structural design, I also prepare and review architectural drawings using AutoCAD, ensuring that design intent is accurately translated into clear and executable construction documents. In addition, I am actively involved in preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for various projects. This includes accurate quantity take-off, cost estimation, and coordination with project specifications to support budgeting, procurement, and contract management processes. I lead and supervise a team of Diploma Engineers who assist in site execution, documentation, and technical reporting. I regularly monitor their activities, provide technical guidance, and ensure that their work aligns with project requirements and timelines. I also review their field reports and coordinate with project stakeholders to resolve technical and site-related issues efficiently. My role further extends to maintaining effective communication between design, site execution, and management teams, ensuring smooth workflow and timely project delivery. I focus on problem-solving, decision-making, and continuous improvement in construction practices.
