I've been working as a self-employed through my own company (Librerama) for clients. I have planned and upgraded hundreds of Ubuntu 16.04, 18.04 and 20.04 servers to 22.04 with different roles and software for a large client. Single servers and clusters (i.e. OpenVPN, Redis). Zero incidents. All upgrades successful. Developed and patched Ansible automation. I have single-handedly (DevOps team of one) scaled an IoT startup company from 1-2 servers to 30 in separate environments (dev, staging, production). The setup was fully automated with Ansible in Digital Ocean. Including VM creation and provisioning. We had multiple servers for different roles (Elixir backed, EMQx MQTT queues cluster, HAPRoxy load-balancing, React/Next.js frontend and more). The setup was stress-tested with simulated concurrent connections and was able to handle 3000 connections on the early stages of the development.
