Will you just tell me what I want to hear, or give it to me straight?
I'll always be honest, but never harsh for the sake of it. If your pacing drags or a character isn't landing, I'll say so clearly and explain why, along with what's already working. You're paying for a real reader reaction, not empty praise.
How is this different from hiring a full editor?
A beta read focuses on the big picture: story, pacing, characters, world-building, and whether the book holds a reader's attention. I'm not correcting grammar or rewriting sentences here, I'm reading as your audience would and telling you where the story succeeds or loses me.
Is my manuscript safe with you?
Yes. Your work stays completely confidential, isn't shared or used anywhere else, and remains entirely yours. I only keep it as long as needed to complete the read.
What if I don't agree with some of your feedback?
That's completely normal, and expected. My notes are there to help you see your manuscript from a reader's perspective, not to dictate rewrites. You decide what fits your vision and what doesn't, I just make sure you're seeing the full picture before you decide.
