What is server-side tracking and why should I use it?
Server-side tracking (sGTM) sends events through your own (or Stape) server endpoint, improving data durability, cookie control, and reliability under browser restrictions—often resulting in more stable conversions for ads + analytics.
What do I need from you to get started?
Website URL, platform/CMS (Shopify/WordPress/etc.), access to GA4 + GTM, Google Ads + Microsoft Ads accounts, and DNS/Cloudflare access for 1st-party domain setup (if needed). A full checklist is in the Requirements section.
Will this improve tracking with ad blockers / ITP / ETP?
It can significantly improve durability, especially with a 1st-party domain and best-practice setup. However, no solution can “guarantee 100%” tracking because user consent, browser rules, and blockers still apply.
How do you track offline conversions that happen in my CRM (HubSpot, Salesforce, etc.)?
I use Server-Side GTM and Webhooks to connect your CRM to the ad platforms. When a lead's status changes to "Closed-Won" or "Purchased" in your CRM, a webhook sends that data to the Server GTM, which then pushes it to Google Ads (via API) or Meta (via CAPI).
Do you set up Google Ads Enhanced Conversions and Microsoft UET revenue mapping?
Yes. I can implement Enhanced Conversions (lead/purchase) and map revenue properly for Microsoft Ads (UET) and Google Ads, including purchase value, currency, and order IDs where available.
Do you support Consent Mode v2 (basic & advanced)?
Yes. I can implement Consent Mode v2 (basic or advanced) depending on your consent banner/CMP and your preference. Consent configuration affects how/when tracking fires.
My website is a custom-coded site. Can you still help?
Yes, I can work with WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, and custom-coded sites. However, for custom sites, we may need to discuss your "Data Layer" structure first. Please contact me before ordering if your site is not a standard CMS.
Do I need to pay for a Stape.io subscription?
Stape offers a free tier for low-traffic sites, but for most professional setups, a paid plan (starting around $20/month) is required to handle the data volume and use advanced features like the Custom Loader and Cookie Keeper.
Is this setup GDPR and CCPA compliant?
Yes. Server-side tracking actually improves compliance because you have total control over what data is sent to third-party vendors. I can redact sensitive PII (Personally Identifiable Information) before it ever leaves your server.
