What information do you need from me to get started?
The more information, the better! To provide an accurate quote and timeline, please share: • Sketches, reference images, or inspiration. • A description of the product's function and key features. • Any size, material, timeline, or budget constraints. • Examples of similar existing products.
What file formats will I receive?
You will receive all the standard file formats needed for prototyping and manufacturing. This includes STEP and IGES for 3D geometry, PDF and DWG/DXF for 2D manufacturing drawings, and, if included in your package, native SolidWorks part/assembly files.
Do you offer prototyping or physical manufacturing?
I do offer prototyping and small scale manufacturing services utilizing 3D printing.
Can you help with my specific industry? (Aerospace, Medical, Consumer, etc.)
Yes. My decade of experience is highly transferable. I have designed everything from robotic tooling for nuclear generators to consumer products and spacecraft components. The fundamental principles of good mechanical design; function, reliability, and manufacturability; apply across all industries.
What is your revision policy?
Each of my gig packages includes a specific number of revision rounds to ensure the design meets your expectations. This allows for structured and efficient refinement. Additional revisions can be accommodated through a custom extra to keep the project fair for both of us.
How does the FEA (Finite Element Analysis) work?
I use SolidWorks Simulation to apply virtual loads to your 3D model. This analysis identifies high-stress areas, predicts deformation, and calculates the factor of safety. This helps us optimize the design for strength and weight before you spend money on physical manufacturing.
