I joined Mahaana, a Y Combinator backed wealth management app, ten days after launch as one of its first employees. I did the repetitive work by hand first, then automated it. AI support assistant. Built an embeddable chat widget that loads on any web or mobile page with one script tag. A Dialogflow CX agent handles first response, with human in the loop handoff to Zendesk agents through Sunshine Conversations and full conversation history. Agent replies stream back in real time through Server Sent Events and SignalR. Backend in Node.js and Express with Firestore, containerised in Docker and shipped through Azure DevOps CI/CD across dev, staging and production. About 15,000 lines integrating 7 APIs. Cut support load by 37% and handled 7,000 conversations in launch week with zero downtime. Email infrastructure. Migrated from SendGrid to Listmonk on AWS SES in one day, cutting email costs by over 80% on a 40,000 subscriber list. Built a custom open tracking service in Next.js and TypeScript on Google Cloud Run, writing unique opens to Firestore and firing a Mixpanel event per open tagged by campaign and lifecycle day. Lifecycle automation. Built email and push journeys in Azure Logic Apps and Power Automate on Azure Synapse data for multiple investor segments, including a four step signup to first deposit flow. Product analytics. Own the Mixpanel event taxonomy, QA incoming event data and build the dashboards management uses to track investor behaviour and growth. Data pipelines. Wrote Python scripts against the undocumented APIs behind public financial data sites to automate collection of yields, index prices, valuations and investor flows for weekly market research.
