No and this is the mistake most people make. The IRS is completely separate from your state. You must file final tax returns AND send a formal EIN closure letter to the IRS

Yes. S Corps require a final Form 1120-S marked as a final return, and depending on your situation, a formal S Corp revocation letter to the IRS
