Dually based in Hong Kong and Japan, I'm a translator, interpreter and editor who speaks native-level Chinese and English with a decade-long career in journalism. Born in Hong Kong, I grew up and was educated in Hong Kong, Canada and the UK. As a native Chinese and English speaker, my core areas of expertise are translation, interpretation and editorial writing. My strengths are also backed by strong academic qualifications, holding a master's degree in East Asian Politics from SOAS University of London and a bachelor's degree in international journalism from Hong Kong Baptist University.

As the Tokyo correspondent at Bloomberg BNA, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bloomberg, I was mainly in charge of covering international trade, tax (domestic and international), intellectual property, environment as well as data security. Specifically, I mainly covered news for four major publications owned by Bloomberg BNA: Bloomberg Tax, Bloomberg Environment, Bloomberg Law and Bloomberg Government. One of my trade stories, entitled "Japan Says No Bilateral Talks Unless U.S Drops New Auto Tariffs" and published on Sept 26, 2018, was promoted as a TOP-ranked story for Bloomberg BNA (BBNA) and held the 3rd spot. My story written on Japanese carmakers' fear of the negative impact potentially brought on their U.S. operations by the Trump administration's proposed Excise Tax, which was published in December 2017, was ranked 12th out of the top 20 Bloomberg tax stories as of December 13 2017.
