What exactly is a fashion tech pack, and why do I need one?
A fashion tech pack is a technical document that communicates a garment's design, measurements, materials, construction and finishing details to a manufacturer. It helps reduce misunderstandings during sampling and production.
Can you create a tech pack from just a reference image or sketch?
Yes. You can provide hand drawn sketches, reference photographs, design mockups or existing garment images. I'll review the available information and identify any missing specifications that require your approval.
What information is included in a complete production tech pack?
Depending on your selected package, it can include technical flats, construction details, measurement specifications, fabric and trim information, color references, labeling details and a Bill of Materials (BOM).
Do you create front and back technical drawings?
Yes. Technical flats can show the front and back of the garment, with additional close up views for important features such as pockets, seams, closures, waistbands, collars and other construction details.
Can you create tech packs for different clothing categories?
Yes. I can work on T-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, trousers, shorts, dresses, jackets, activewear, sportswear, streetwear and other apparel styles. Complex garments may require a custom quote.
Can you include a measurement chart and size grading?
Measurement specifications can be included when you provide the base measurements or approved size chart. Full size grading across multiple sizes is a separate service unless explicitly included in your package.
Can you specify fabrics, trims, stitching and Pantone colors?
Yes. I can document your selected fabrics, trims, stitching methods and Pantone references. If these have not been finalized, I will identify the missing information instead of inventing production specifications.
Which file formats will I receive?
Final delivery is provided in PDF format. Editable Adobe Illustrator or other source files can be arranged as an additional service, depending on the project and agreed scope.
What if my manufacturer requests changes after reviewing the tech pack?
I can help revise the document within the agreed revision allowance. Manufacturer feedback should be provided clearly, preferably with annotated screenshots or written instructions. New design directions or additional garments may require a separate quote.
Do you guarantee that my manufacturer will approve the tech pack?
No. Factory requirements vary depending on manufacturing processes and production standards. I prepare clear, structured technical documentation based on your approved specifications, but final acceptance depends on your manufacturer.
