Lead WordPress Developer & Head of Technology

Mar 2018 - Present • 8 yrs 7 mos

Since 2018 I have been Lead WordPress Developer at a Polish digital media company. Lead developer for a network of regional news sites running on WordPress. I designed and maintain the custom FSE block theme behind all of them, along with an ecosystem of in-house plugins. Key achievements: - Built a custom block theme focused on speed, with its own ad management system, Schema.org markup and Google News sitemap - Developed an event calendar that scales smoothly to 60,000+ events - Replaced several third-party plugins with lightweight in-house code - Set up a shared media library for multiple sites on Cloudflare R2 - Manage VPS servers (OVH, HestiaCP) and the Cloudflare stack (Workers, R2, Pages, caching) - Built AI integrations using LLM APIs

Built WordPress websites for small businesses and individual clients, from setup and theme customization to launch. This is where I learned to turn what a client describes into a site that actually works for them.
