I'm worried about receiving criticism of my work.
First, it's natural to be apprehensive. I'll be looking at work you've spent a lot of time with, which you've invested a lot of yourself into. But don't worry! The most important thing is that it should capture your vision by your own standards. The work will be assessed according to this alone.
What degree of proofreading can you provide?
I'll correct all (unintentional) spelling errors and typos, and I'll ensure the grammar generally adheres to the Chicago Manual of Style. A fully comprehensive proofread would not be appropriate until all edits are addressed and implemented.
Do you edit for factual errors?
I will include callouts to anything that clearly needs to be verified in the context of the work, or jumps out as being factually incorrect. But generally speaking, I do not research for factual accuracy.
Is a review of my revisions included in your fee?
A developmental edit will provide you with suggestions for restructuring, guidance for language clarification, pacing alterations, and/or the implementation of additional content. As such, your revisions will represent a new body of work subject to the established fee schedule.
