Teaching Experience at As-Suffah Academy My experience teaching at As-Suffah Academy has been a meaningful and rewarding part of my growth as an educator. As a teacher, I have had the opportunity to work closely with young learners and support their academic, social, emotional, and spiritual development. Teaching in an Islamic school has allowed me to create a classroom environment where students can develop strong academic foundations while also learning the importance of character, kindness, responsibility, respect, and faith. At As-Suffah Academy, I have gained valuable experience planning and delivering age-appropriate lessons across multiple subject areas, including reading, phonics, writing, mathematics, science, social studies, and Islamic studies. I have learned the importance of differentiating instruction to meet the individual needs of students, recognizing that every child learns differently. I use small-group instruction, hands-on activities, modeling, repetition, and individualized support to help students understand challenging concepts and build confidence. One of the most valuable aspects of my experience has been learning how to use student data and assessments to guide instruction. I have worked with assessment information to identify areas of strength and areas where students need additional support. This has helped me create targeted small groups, provide interventions, and adjust my teaching strategies based on student progress. I have also learned the importance of communicating with families and colleagues to ensure students receive consistent support. Working with young children has strengthened my classroom management skills and taught me the importance of patience, consistency, and positive relationships. I strive to understand the individual needs and personalities of my students and create a classroom where they feel safe, valued, and encouraged to participate. I believe that building strong relationships with students is valued.
