My proofreading includes:
- Catching surface-level errors like misplaced punctuation or misspellings
- Ensuring formatting consistency for publication
- Double-checking page numbers, headers, and footers
I read 120+ manuscripts when I interned as a YA/MG reader for a literary agency, and I earned my B.A. in Creative Writing in 2014. I've published ethnographic journalism, poetry, short stories, and non-fiction, some traditionally published and others through self-publishing.
Proofreading is the final set of eyes before your book reaches your readers. You've done the hardest part in writing the book; allow me to handle the last step for you.
My rate is $35 per 5,000 words ($.007 per word).

Is English your native language?
Yes! I was born and raised in Texas, USA and currently live in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
What experiences do you have with book editing?
I learned the art of editing while working toward my B.A. in Creative Writing. I also wrote and self-edited large portions of my traditionally published pieces and titles in addition to copyediting proofreading my clients' work here on Fiverr.
Does this include developmental or story editing?
No; I will only edit the manuscript for grammar, syntax, sentence structure, and punctuation. If you are not yet ready to query or publish, or believe you still have story editing to do, I suggest booking my development editing service first.
Which sub-genres of Young Adult will you edit?
I will read the following sub-genres of YA and MG: contemporary/coming-of-age, fantasy, mystery, paranormal, historical, LGBTQ+, scifi, retellings, humor, and action/adventure.
Do you have any trigger warnings/scenes you REFUSE to read in a manuscript?
I will not read any manuscript that features child abuse, animal abuse, or r*pe on the page. If your manuscript includes any of these actions, I am NOT the editor for your story.
