That was an actual question I was asked during my interview at Google.
It sounds absurd at first, but questions like this aren't about getting the right answer. They're designed to see how you think. There is a structured way to approach them, though. I teach a framework called CFAS: Clarifying questions, Framework, Assumptions, and Solution.
I help clients apply this approach so they're never caught off guard by open-ended or ambiguous interview questions again.
