My Teaching Experience: During my second and third years of university, I was selected to join a volunteer program organized by the school, providing one-on-one offline Chinese lessons to foreign instructors. I also helped fellow students correct their Mandarin pronunciation and guided them to pass the Mandarin proficiency test, achieving Level 2A and Level 2B results. From October 2014 to now, over nearly two years, I have been teaching part-time on italki, other online Chinese learning platforms, and domestic Chinese teaching institutions, accumulating 500+ hours of online and offline lessons covering both adult and children's courses. Adult Courses: HSK 1–6 Comprehensive: Helping students correct pronunciation, learn vocabulary and grammar, and review together. Speaking & Expression: Through topic discussions and story sharing, I help students adjust tone and stress, making their expression more accurate and richer. Culture & Travel: Using pictures, videos, and music, I introduce fascinating traditional Chinese culture such as paper-cutting, origami, and calligraphy, and encourage students to try them hands-on. I also invite students to share their own cultural customs, comparing them with Chinese culture to find similarities. Additionally, I introduce travel destinations across different seasons and festivals in China, along with practical language for taking taxis, booking hotels, ordering food, and asking for directions. Children's Courses: Children's Comprehensive: Using animation and games to help students learn pinyin, characters, and vocabulary, deepening retention through short dialogues that encourage accurate expression. Children's Culture & Games: Sharing fun cultural stories like "Chinese New Year" and "Zodiac Animals" through picture books, reinforced through games to help them better remember this cultural knowledge.
